Have you ever been in a home where you felt like it was a blast from the past? You know, everything was made in the 70s, and it looked that way.  I’m sure you can picture in your mind’s eye, the creaky door on the olive green refrigerator, the old beat up gas or electric oven grates are rusty and worn out, the sink fixtures looking grimy and dirty, and on and on it goes.  Obviously you would rather have a kitchen that is updated rather than outdated. Well so does everyone else. Updating your kitchen design can be a great way of boosting the value of your home. Designs and appliances that are newer can significantly increase the selling price of your home, so take a look and see if your kitchen needs improving.

kitchen designUpdating your kitchen design really is not that hard to do, it just takes a little bit of work. The three main things that are integral to your home is the floor, the cabinets, and the walls. If any of these do not look modern, it can greatly hurt your home’s value. Updating your kitchen to look more modern makes it look much better to people, and will make them wish that it were their kitchen.

One way to increase the value greatly of a home is finding counter depth or built-in appliances. Getting modern looking appliances that are built in make the kitchen area look much better than just normal appliances that can seem out of place. Integrate the dishwasher with the counter top, get a built in double stove, and having a counter depth refrigerator can make your kitchen look brand new and more homey. Do some research online, and see what other people have for their kitchens. Get ideas, print out pictures, and take them to your local store and say this is what you want! Your homes value will increase greatly if you do this.

And then when you are finally completed with your kitchen project, don’t forget the second most popular upgrade to your home’s interior….bathroom remodeling projects. These also are important for retaining the value of your home, and after all bathrooms are one of the most often used rooms in the house.  No matter what you decide, remember….don’t  be afraid to take it slow, spend time to do ample research, and then consult an expert when you are ready to get your quotes and move forward with your upgrades.
