You may or may not be familiar with the interior decorating apparatus known as the vinyl decal. These are basically giant rub-on tattoos for your home that can be applied wherever you choose and removed later on; also, contrary to phony tats, wall stickers can be reused. The walls aren’t the only place you can put vinyl decals, though. I mean, yes, vinyl wall quotes and graphics are usually designated for walls due to their size, but there are smaller ones available for other areas of the house.

Bubble-Wall-DecalsWould you believe there are decals for toilets? That’s right – you can put a fun picture on your toilet. DaliDecals.com is an example of one such place that offers potty stickers, and as expected, they are all humor-based things like bombs, poison symbols, gas masks, mushroom clouds, and a gas mask. Funny, but appropriate, I guess. They also have a funky little bathtub decal of scuba diver silhouettes (which would probably look neat inside the tub rather th an outside). These might be good as a gag gift, or a necessity for college freshmen in dorms who do laundry once a semester.

Also from DaliDecals are some stickers made for furniture and headboards; clearly, they want to make sure no surface, furniture, or room feel discriminated against. Some of the things are kinda nifty, like a Las Vegas sign decal (shown above a bed; I guess they take that “What happens in Vegas” thing seriously). But some of them…they’re creative, but they make me wonder who’d buy one. An example of such a decal is their chandelier sticker, and silhouettes of furniture like lamps and tables. In some cases, they might be cheaper than the actual furnishings, but why spend $25 on a vinyl decal of a floor lamp when you could buy a real one? It’s like having towels for nothing more than decoration…towels are meant to dry, and lamps are meant to light, so what’s the point?

There are loads of items there that suit just about every taste, and I can’t pass judgment on what is a good or bad design choice. Geography, flowers, quotes, animals, sports, wedding, planes, bikes, and cityscapes are just some of the choices as far as decals available at this website. Check the place out sometime for more information and for pricing (note: average cost for one decal is between $25 and $100). What I’d love to see is a crime scene body outline for a non-carpeted floor; I’d put in the basement next to a patch of freshly-laid cement.
