In the past few years the development of LED (light emitting diodes) bulbs has revolutionized the home lighting market. LED bulbs have allowed lights that were traditionally only powered by mains voltage to be powered by battery and even solar power. This has brought about some very exciting possibilities for home and garden lighting, because having wireless lights means endless possibilities as to where you can put them.

One of the most enchanting forms of lighting has to be the string light. The sting light which as the names suggests is a sting of light bulbs on a wire. Simple, clean and crisp white lights can transform any outdoor or indoor space in an instance.

Battery operated string lights
are a great choice for illuminating larger plants in the home and can light up dark corners or plants that are not near main power points. As an idea the stair well of many homes will not have any power sockets near it and it can actually be quite a dark and dingy looking area of the home. If you were to put a plant in that area though and interweave some fine string lights through it, it would light up that part of your home beautifully.

Another great way to use battery powered string lights is to put them in a vase. Bundling up a load of sting lights and placing them in a vase makes a great feature in the home that you can put wherever you want. I will guarantee that any visitors to your home will pass comment on them. Not only will they provide a nice ambient light they will also add an extra depth to your room. Everyone knows that using multiple light sources is key to achieving a good lighting scheme in the home and this is a great way of getting in another method of lighting. The low power battery operated led string lights give off very little heat and therefore do not pose any significant safety hazard in terms of catching alight or melting themselves in to giant plastic module.

These are just two ideas of what you could do with battery operated lights and there are endless other opportunities, all you need to do is think outside of the box. Getting creative can add some real individuality to your home and set it apart from all of the other drab generic interiors.
