A reasonable alternative is to invest in one of the many flat screen TV stands available in the marketplace. These can be both functional and stylish and make great additions to any home decor.
People typically tend to avoid television stands because they think that they are not attractive to the eye. They are too big and bulky and take up too much room. Previously, some TV stands were almost given a bad reputation for their bulky size and appearance. However, these days, designs have changed and become far more sleek. This is especially true of flat screen TV cabinets.

One of the main selling points of flat panel TVs regards their thin frame, which can make it seemingly redundant to purchase a bulky stand. While the stand does need to have enough strength to hold the television and keep it mounted adequately, it is important to remember that strength isn’t necessarily equal to bulk.

It really depends on the design of the flat screen television stand itself and how much the stand is equipped to hold. Consider if the stand is equipped to only hold and showcase your TV, or if it will also provide space to hold other parts of your home entertainment system. They need to have sufficient media storage as well so you can kill two birds with one stone. A couple of media shelves for storage or drawers would suffice. Also some shelving for your cable or satellite box would be needed. Most of the time the television stands will come equipped with hidden wiring access to give your entertainment center a super clean look.
