Decoration Tips, Advice, And Product Reviews
Patio cushions have come a long way in recent years. They used to be so staid and boring and now you can get them in all kinds of designs and colors both contemporary and traditional. And the quality of the fabrics has improved too so that they are no longer a throw away “last a couple of summers” item. This means we are willing to pay a bit more and are more interested in good design as we will be living with our cushions for a bit longer.
Many buyers approach choosing outdoor patio cushions with only one question in mind “Do I like the fabric?” but you could get your cushions to work a lot harder than that for you if you see them as accessories of a room, your garden being the space or “room” in question.
Many of us are quite haphazard when it comes to designing our gardens but we don’t have to be. Gardens can be just as coordinated as any room in your home. You just don’t have the same elements to work with – no floor or walls but you do have a neutral backdrop – generally the green of grass and foliage in this case and then you add color with other items such as patio cushions, furniture, flower pots and flowers to make a pleasing color scheme.
If you are designing a new garden from scratch you could start with your patio cushions and see where that takes you. You can of course introduce a few more colors in a garden because no one expects perfect coordination but it helps if you have the majority of colors fitting in with your color scheme.
Choose patio cushions with a few colors which work well in gardens to make your life as easy as possible, a multi-stripe or plaid with 3 or 4 colors would be ideal to give you plenty of scope to play with for other items including flowers.
