You love the look of cream on white and beige on tan. Whenever you think of decorating your bedroom, you picture a room layered with neutrals. It has many textures, varying shades and hues, and is all around stunning.
Picking out the main furniture pieces is fairly simple. You have a white wardrobe in the corner. You have painted the wall a nice cream color. You bought a bed in a bag to simplify the bedding process, choosing some hues that you thought would tie the whole room together. Now, you are wondering about accent pieces.
You are wondering about pillows options. You really can not go wrong with pillow layering on a bed. Aim for a variety of textures, ranging from scratchy wool to satiny silk with everything in between. You will not need many embellishments on patterned pillows, but a few thrown in will have a nice effect.
For a table side lamp, do not choose something boring. There can be so much flare in lamps. One thing to try for though, sis to keep either the base simple and the shade ornate or the shade simple and the base ornate. You do not want to overdo it, but you do not want to under do it either. One nice trend that is returning is the beaded lampshades that debuted in the 1920’s. These add a bit of excitement to a neutral bedroom.
Finally, consider picture frames and artwork. Many like to have all of the pictures and art on the wall in order to leave the surfaces uncluttered. I think this is wise, as it motivates you to keep the surfaces less cluttered. Silver frames, gold frames, and pale wood frames will broaden your scope of neutrals while keeping it the room in a neat little neutrals package.
