Going For The Green:

When it comes to ultra-compact canister vacuums, Electrolux has a variety of suitable models of canister vacuum cleaners to choose from. A few of these models include the Electrolux ErgoSpace, the Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green, and the brand new Electrolux ErgoSpace Green.

Each of these compact canisters are designed specifically for the urban resident in high-density living spaces. Known as the Condo Series of vacuums, these three canister vacuum cleaners feature soft wheels, insulated motor, and a low-noise floor nozzle, making them super quiet. Each of these mighty little units also includes telescoping wands and above floor tool attachments for extended reach in those tight places. All three machines utilize a washable HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of dust and allergens. The washable HEPA filter will help to create less waste and keep more money in your pocket, by not having to buy replacement filters.

Let’s take a look at what sets each of the canisters apart.

Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green:

This is the basic model and the oldest in this series, which includes all the features described above. In addition, 55% of the plastic on this model is made from recycled materials, and 80% of the packaging is also recycled. The quiet vacuum cleaner revolution is now here, and you can experience it with the Electrolux Ultra Silencer.

Electrolux ErgoSpace:

The Electrolux ErgoSpace is designed with the common characteristics described above, as well as a number of additional features. These add-ons include an Ergoshock bumper to protect walls, Electronic Dust Bag Indicator that that alerts you when the bag needs to be changed, and a Versatile Aero tool that converts from dusting brush, to crevice tool, to a upholstery tool. This is not a “green” model, as it is not constructed from recycled materials, however it is a very effective vacuum.

Electrolux ErgoSpace Green:

The all-new Electrolux ErgoSpace Green model offers the best of both worlds with respect to the Electrolux ErgoSpace and Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green. This model offers all of the same features and functionality of the Electrolux ErgoSpace, but it too is constructed from recycled plastic and uses recycled packaging material. The Ergospace Green also uses 33% less energy than comparable models, so this will help you save on you energy bill as well as the environment.

The Condo Series canisters are another great line from Electrolux. It’s great to see the designers are concerned with the cleanliness of our planet as well as our homes.

Japanese electronics have a good reputation. But what is the quality like if you get a cheap Panasonic rice cooker? This is the question that I shall address in this short piece.

Panasonic are a well known Japanese electronics maker. They are a huge company that now sell a host of products all over the globe from televisions to kitchen appliances. There are many different brands of Japanese rice cookers. Many of the models are targeting different areas of the market. There are expensive machines like the Zojirushi NP-HBC series and then much cheaper ones like the Panasonic SRG06FG. This is a budget rice cooker that does not have the features and options of more expensive models but is aimed at those looking for a simple machine that simply cooks rice. And it does this well.

One of the cool things about the Panasonic SRG06FG rice cooker is that it has a glass lid. This means that unlike most other makers’ machines, you can see what is going on as your rice is cooking. This device can also be used not just for rice but also to make hot pots. Although if you do this you have to take care that things do not start to burn. The glass lid makes it easy to watch over things cooking. So if they need a stir, it is easy to notice.

This cheap rice cooker is not going to suit every person’s needs. For example if you already eat rice regularly then you may be looking for something that is a bit more set and forget. When you buy a more expensive Zojirushi or Sanyo rice cooker for example, the only thing that you have to really do is measure out and wash the rice correctly. The cooker will do the rest. Certainly, once you get used to the Panasonic SRG06FG you will not have to keep watch over it as it cooks. However to begin with this is both fun and advisable.

Grilling a half turkey outdoors on a gas grill is not hard at all. If you have a great portable gas grill, that is. Portable gas grills are fantastic. If you do not have one already, look online for one and buy yourself a present you can use every day of the grill season.

Now for the turkey! Too many people leave this dish for only Thanksgiving. It does not have to be that way. Give it a go. Start with a small one.

In a small bowl mix a teaspoon of garlic powder with a half-teaspoon each of ground black pepper, salt, chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano and brown sugar. Then cut a medium size union and half-a-cup of celery into chunks. Add four sliced carrots. Put the vegetables in the center of a foil roasting pan and sprinkle the mixture with a teaspoon-and-a-half of the seasoning mix you just prepared. Add half-a-cup of turkey or chicken broth.

Thoroughly rinse and pat dry the thawed half turkey. Then mix a tablespoon each of olive oil and lemon juice into a small dish and rub the mixture all over ol’ Tom – inside and out. Separate the skin from the meat just enough to slide your hand in between. Rub some of the seasoning mix under the skin as well as inside and outside the turkey.

Place your turkey – with the cut side down – in the pan, covering the vegetables. Place the pan in the refrigerator for about an hour while the turkey soaks up the broth and seasoning.

Outside, light up the gas grill and bring the temperature to 350-degrees. Then take the foil roasting pan with the bird from the refrigerator and place it on the grill. Turn off all but one burner and allow it to slow roast. Grill for about an hour-and-a-half to two-hours, checking the meat with a meat thermometer frequently. When the internal thigh has reached 180-degrees, the bird is ready.

Be sure to have your carving fork and knife handy for slicing the meat, and you’re ready to dine!

Many people do not think too much about what they want from a small refrigerator until after they realize there is something wrong with the one they just bought. But planning ahead before making a purchase is always a good idea whenever feasible. One particular qualification you might find useful is in energy star small refrigerators since these will save you money in the long run and often cost about the same as a comparable unit that isn’t energy star compliant.

The best way to determine that the refrigerator or any appliance for that matter is energy star compliant is by the yellow label that comes with the unit. It explains the energy consumption of that unit and offers to chart a comparison between various comparable models. You can learn a lot about energy consumption of various appliances just by looking at that yellow label. The problem in buying a used refrigerator is that you have no idea what the unit is actually capable of in terms of energy savings and consumption levels.

To ensure that you are doing your part in the energy conservation efforts make sure you not only pick up the energy star small refrigerators but also that it is not larger than you need it to be. Having a larger unit wastes space, energy and money in a single blow so be careful about that. The extra space inside the refrigerator makes it more difficult to keep the interior cold which runs the appliance a lot more frequently.

Another design to look for is a top mounted freezer compartment. When the freezer compartment is on the top of the interior of the refrigerator is uses a lot less energy to cool the rest of the refrigerator since the cold from the freezer compartment is already flowing downward throughout the rest of the inside of the unit. Keeping energy consumption to a minimum is a smart way to save money.

Grilling seems to be a favorite pastime among many people who have a built in bbq at home. Most people do very well with your standard grill out on the deck or patio. It does not take a massively good looking bbq to attract good fun and good eats all it takes is the food and someone who knows how to cook it. The bbq setup that most people usually have can accommodate for having parties and feeding many people. Others are simply for family and friends though the size of the grill does not say how many people you can feed, it just says how much you can cook at the same time.

Having to choose a design that fits you is probably one of the harder things to do because you tend to like one thing over another. Take the types of stationary bbq setups there are. The basic designs are the bar, which is a long rectangular thing that usually is setup for smaller grills. Then there is the L shape bar that gives you a little bit more at a perpendicular angle for more space. Which comes to the U shaped bar that is excellent for many people and of course a ton of food with two perpendicular long stretches of bar that accommodates a large grill for even larger parties.

Now designing one of these yourself will take a little bit of time and of course you need the look you are going for. You don’t want to get the wrong design then be unhappy with it after it’s finished. One sure way to take out this factor is to do sketches of how you would like it to look. Then take that look and make sure the size will fit in your own back yard. From there you should be set to design your own built in charcoal grills.

Stainless steel gas bbq units cost more but have good qualities about them. Without having the problems you might get with a charcoal grill, you can start it up right away and keep it going as long as the fuel source allows. Charcoal has been the top cooking preference in the past but it looks like the gas grill could be taking over that spot, with a faster startup time and a more constant heat without the worry of the coal burning out. It really may take over the number one position, though getting that nice smoky or charcoal flavor may not be possible with gas it allows a better way to cook your food. Both deal with fire but it’s the fuel on that fire that gives you a good heat to cook with.

Charcoals design on the grill makes it more rugged and used; where as the stainless steel barbeques give you a nice shiny look and generally can stay a lot cleaner than a charcoal grill. The gas over coal feature is great when in more of a rush to get the food cooking. The grill can warm up in a matter of minutes instead of up to 45 minutes at times waiting for the coals to get up to the right temperature. You can adjust the heat rather than finding the hot and cold spots charcoal can cause due to uneven heating. This can be of great value when using a rotisserie cooking style.

While charcoal heating can fluctuate and not stay a constant heat you can keep the gas grill going at a constant temperature and have the ability to cook your rotisserie at an even temperature ensuring everything is cooked properly. While gas usually comes with this rotisserie option it does not always, come with the charcoal grill style.

As the summer grows closer you’re thinking about outdoor electric barbecue grills and how they have made your summers extremely enjoyable, as well as giving the enjoyment of great family fun, and being able to enjoy many choices in food as well. Yours has been in storage and you need to get it out and check on its condition to determine if you can grill with it this summer. Finding out that you may need to buy a new one comes as a hard shock to you but it is not discouraging. You have been thinking about buying a new one anyway so this just confirms that it is time.

Making the choice to buy a new grill is easy accept when you start thinking about all the other kinds of grills that are out there as well like the gas burning grill or the charcoal grill. While they have great qualities of their own you are determined to buy one of the electric bbq grills that have served you so faithfully over that last many years. Originally you chose the electric over the others because you did not like the taste of charcoal or gas flavored meats which is totally understandable. While heading to the store to acquire a new one you are just hoping you can find one that will do the same job if not better than your old one. This year you are thinking about doing some rotisserie style cooking and need one that will allow you to do this.

Rotisserie style cooking is a bit different from your standard, throw it on the grill and cook it. Rotisserie lets you cook bigger items with ease as it slowly rotates above the heat source to cook it perfectly all the way through while leaving it nice and moist. Finding one with this ability should be no problem because even though the grill may not come with it you can almost always buy and attachment to put on it.

People actually drool over the prospect of having an outdoor grill in their backyards. I don’t blame them. Outdoor built in gas grills are great for entertaining friends and family, but more importantly, their great for entertaining yourself. If you’re like me, the whole barbecue experience is not just about the food, it’s also about the process. That process is great if you can do it outdoors in a spanking new built-in gas grill.

With almost all good things, there’s a price to pay for that new outdoor gas grill. Unfortunately that price will cost you in terms of money, time and effort. So, if you can’t resist the idea of having that outdoor grill, make sure that you do so with longevity in mind. This means that your design takes into consideration as much design risk as possible. Listed below are a couple of thoughts on designing built in gas barbecue grills that are often missed.

Location, Position and Orientation

Make sure that the outdoor grill is a short distance from your main kitchen. No matter how beautifully designed your grilling station; you must consider it a hub that needs to be connected to its central distribution center. The less travel you need to undertake with food and ingredients in your arms, the better off you are. Also, it will be less costly on new gas pipes that need to be laid.

Consider which side your grill will be in relation to the sun’s setting and the usual wind direction. You will hate grilling with the sun directly against your eyes. Furthermore, it can be difficult to see the flames on your grill under a bright sun. By moving your grill’s orientation, you can avoid direct sunlight. If at all possible make sure that your outdoor dining area is somewhat covered to avoid blown out candles or torches.

Pipe Laying

Outdoor plumbing and gas access will need to be laid thus expect to spend on this. This means that you will need to dig trenches, lay the pipes and cover them. If you include a sink in your outdoor grill, expect to lay more pipes for drainage. This may not be that simple because in some areas the building codes require vents installed for sewage lines. This means having to install unsightly vent pipes that jut out of the ground some five to ten feet and a pump. You can always disguise the pipe by placing a chimney like structure or a bush around it.

One last piece of advice, promise your neighbors a meal or a party to get them to buy into the process. This way you can reduce possible complaints on the noise due to the construction activities.

Life can grow to be so busy that we find ourselves not having enough time for the things we truly enjoy, one of those things being a great tasting cup of coffee. If you have found this to be a true statement for your life then let me introduce you to the new Senseo Coffee Brewer. This is the perfect solution for those who are constantly on the go and need to prepare a beverage in a fraction of the time it would normally take with a traditional coffee brewer.

With the introduction of the coffee pod technology method, the Senseo Brewer has completely changed the way coffee has been brewed in the past. This change has come quickly and just in time for those who have found that the traditional coffee pot brewing method is too time consuming.

Perhaps you are wondering what the unique pod is made up of. The small prepackaged and premeasured portion pack contains fresh ingredients which are sealed in an individual filter and then vacuum sealed. The vacuum seal locks in the taste and freshness in each Senseo coffee pod which in turn guarantees that the standard of the prepackaged ingredients are fresh.

Senseo coffee makers are merely the perfect answer for your home use if you are engaged in a busy lifestyle. The single serve choice means that every member in your home can pick his or her flavor instead of everyone having to settle on the one same pot of coffee. This will not only ensure that everyone is pleased, it helps to eliminate unnecessary pots of coffee, an added savings over a course of time.

If you have come to the conclusion that your life style has grown so hectic and that you are in need of an alternative, look no further than the Senseo. Order this single serve coffee brewer for your home and immediately begin experiencing the difference a little convenience will make in your life!

Making coffee has become very simple and convenient over the years because of coffee makers. Efficient and easy to use, drip coffee makers are the most popular way to make coffee at home. By pushing a simple button or switch, fresh coffee awaits in a glass carafe several minutes later, while the heating element keeps it hot. Drip makers with timers allow coffee drinkers the luxury of fresh coffee upon waking.

These coffee makers are designed in the same way, but may be programmed electronically to start at a certain time, instead of turning a switch. Elaborate coffee makers that also include an espresso maker on the unit may be purchased for those who want to add espresso to their cup. Another new design of home coffee makers is the reservoir brewer. This type of unit eliminates the carafe, storing fresh coffee in a separate reservoir after brewing. Coffee is dispensed simply by pressing a cup against the release button, while remaining coffee stays fresh in the reservoir.

The stove-top coffee maker is popular with those who prefer bold coffee, as the yielded product is a substantially stronger taste than a cup of drip coffee, while using less grounds. This process is more difficult than using a simple drip unit and may take practice to master. Water must not boil or the coffee will be ruined.

French press coffee makers are not common, but are still sought by coffee drinkers. These makers do not yield a large amount of coffee, and the process requires more work than the convenient drip unit or even the stove-top maker. Similar to the stove-top coffee maker, the French press creates a final product of extremely strong taste. French press coffee makers are difficult to clean, making them a less popular choice among coffee drinkers.

Another very convenient way to enjoy a nice fresh cup of coffee every time is through Senseo coffee pods. These little pods are compact and convenient but require their own coffee maker. Not to worry though, none of this is very expensive. The great thing about coffee pods is that they come in the perfect coffee grind so you don’t have to guess about that.
