That sounds crazy, but it is true. For example if your house is located in a sunny place and has big windows, the sun can really heat up the house during a hot and sunny summer’s day. Then the air conditioner has to work overtime to cool down the house again. You can close the blinds yourself, but do you really remember to do it every day before you leave for work. Automatic window blinds can be programmed to block to the sunlight from heating up your apartment. You can save hundreds of dollars in electric bills with automatic blinds. And It is the same thing with heating in the winter time. Window blinds work as an additional layer of insulation on windows, which keeps the heat from escaping and keeps the heating bill lower

Too much direct sunlight can also damage your floors, walls and furniture. Textiles lose their colors and especially wooden floors, walls and furniture suffer very much. Wood has a natural humidity level which decreases in the heat caused by direct sunlight. It causes the wood to warp and crack permanently. The same thing happens to the lacquer protecting the wooden surface. Protecting the wood from direct sunlight can save you a lot of money as the wood lasts longer and looks better for longer. It is easiest done by installing an automatic window blinds system that closes the blinds whenever there is direct sunlight.

What are automated blinds exactly? They are like standard blinds. The mechanics are the same, but instead of a person turning the nob, there is a small electric motor that uses very little electricity. That motor is controlled by a computer that can be programmed to close and open the blinds at a specific time of the day or in specific conditions like sunlight. The blinds can still be used manually with a remote control, which makes things easier if you have a lot of windows and blinds.
